Description[]

Like the Goryo Before it, the Typhon was originally an assault 'Mech designed by Clan Star Adder. After some small modifications, it spread to the other clans, such as Clan Ghost Bear and Clan Jade Falcon. The DCMS and Lyran alliance had the misfortune of confronting the Typhon in 3068 in battles against the clans.

The Typhon is in many ways the bigger version of the older Goryo, built on the same basic shape. And like its predecessor, the Typhons defining feature is massive firepower capable of hitting an opponent at any range. With sufficient armor to weather lengthy battles, and enough speed to keep up with most assault 'Mechs, the Typhon is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. However, this firepower comes at a high cost. The Typhon is notorious for being a pricey machine.

Armament[]

The Typhons primary weapons are a Gauss Rifle and an Ultra Autocannon 20. For long range fire support, a single LRM-20 with Artemis IV FCS can unleash a barrage of missiles from long ranges with great accuracy. A single Heavy Large Laser and a pair of turret-mounted Medium Pulse Lasers allow the Typhon to engage opponents up close with lethal force. Two tons of ammunition supports each of the ballistic and missile weapons, while 18 double heat sinks keeps the machine within acceptable temperatures.

Variants[]

  • Typhon B - Clan Hell's Horses fields a modified version of the Typhon. This version of the 'Mech boasts a pair of arm-mounted HAG-40s and five Medium Pulse Lasers. Six tons of ammo keep the HAG-40 firing for extended battles. The heat sinks has been dropped to 15 to allow for more ammunition. In some conditions, this version of the Typhon is even deadlier than its predecessor, however, only a couple of these have ever been spotted. BV (1.0) = ???, BV (2.0) = 3,239
