Description[]
The Lava Fang class was a frigate model designed by the shipwrights of the Raven Alliance. It was the first model of warship designed by the Alliance and was originally intended solely as a testbed for applying a number of captured technologies to a warship. The first vessel was under construction as an Ice Fang class vessel modified to support a second Star of Aerospace fighters when the decision was made to also retrofit it with a number of new laser based technologies. The Lava Fang was undergoing a shakedown cruise when a nearby Alliance world reported that it was under attack, The Lava Fang responded and its performance in the ensuing engagement so impressed Alliance Leadership that, combined with the growing numbers of Pocket Warships in service, the decision was made to put the Lava Fang class into production at a rate of two Lava Fang class vessels being constructed for every Ice Fang class ship built.
Armament[]
For Anti-warship purposes the Lava Fang class has a single heavy Naval Gauss Rifle, and a pairs of NL55s and in the nose, along with eight Medium Sub-Capital Lasers. The fore and aft left and right bays each contain a Medium Naval PPC and a NL45 with 4 Medium Sub-Capital Lasers while each broadside bay carries a pair of NAC 30s, and two NL55s backed up by five Medium Sub-Capital Lasers. Finally the aft bay contains two NL55s and two NL 45s supported by eight Medium Sub-Capital Lasers. Each bay also carries two ER PPCs, and eight Heavy Large Lasers for use against hostile fighters, along with 3 Laser Anti Missile Systems for point defense.

What if Warships remained active version[]
Much the same as the main timeline the primary differences being that the prototype responded to a call from a local defense naval star rather then the only Raven Alliance warship in the engagement and the attacking force was larger as well. Also the increased production of warships in this timeline means that many more of these ships were produced.
